Ultimately, there is no limit to your choice of coffees when using a Keurig single-cup brewer.
There are two answers to this concern.
First, if you buy the regular K-Cups that are available from companies like Green Mountain Coffee, Timothy’s World Coffee and Gloria Jean’s Coffee, there are already over 100 different coffees and blends to choose from.
And starting in the second quarter of 2007, Caribou Coffee will start selling K-Cup coffee too. So a lot of the great Caribou coffees you can now buy as whole beans will become available in K-Cups.
In other words, unless there is a very particular and exotic coffee you crave, you are more than likely to find a variety of coffees to suit your taste in the K-Cup format.
But...if you do have one or more favorite coffees that you can’t find in K-Cups, there is still a solution.
You can buy a reusable K-Cup filter and cup holder.
Instead of buying boxes of sealed cups, you simply grind your own coffee beans, fill the reusable filter, place it in the cup-holder provided and then put it in your Keurig brewer.
This isn’t quite as convenient as just plonking a K-Cup in your brewer, but it does give you the flexibility to try any kind of coffee you want.
There is an added bonus too. If you grind your own beans and use the reusable filter, you’ll end up saving a significant amount of money.
In fact, by using the reusable K-Cup filter, you cut your cost per mug of coffee to about a third or less of what it usually costs.
