The Keurig B30 is the latest K-Cup brewer made by Keurig for the consumer market.
Unlike the B40, B60 and B70, which are very similar in size and design, the Keurig B30 is a whole lot smaller.
It seems that Keurig is trying to appeal to a new group of buyers – travelers, RV owners, boat owners and cottage owners.
In other words, the company is hoping that the B30 Mini will be a hit with people who are on the move and for whom space is at a premium.
As for the coffee it makes, don't expect anything different from the earlier K-Cup brewers. The B30 uses the same brewing system and uses the same K-Cups.
So how did Keurig manage to make the B30 so small, when compared to the B40, B60 and B70?
What they did, more or less, is take away the water reservoir.
A selling point for the regular line of Keurig brewers is that you can fill the reservoir and then make several cups of coffee without having to keep adding water. In fact, as they brought out new models, the water reservoir kept getting bigger.
Now they have reversed that thinking.
The Keurig B30 brews an 8 ounce cup of coffee and you have to add 8 ounces of water to the machine each time you brew.
By removing the water reservoir, and abandoning the "multiple cups without refilling with water is good" mantra, they have been able to dramatically reduce the size of the brewer and give it a fresh new design.
Is this the brewer for you? If you want a single serve coffee maker that fits in a small space, or if you want to take it with you when you travel, this could be just what you have been waiting for.
