The quick answer is yes. But the choices available will depend on the kind of single-serve brewer you buy.
For regular coffee, there are more choices available in coffee pods than there are in K-Cup.
But when it comes to fair trade organic coffee, it’s the other way around.
For instance, looking at the Senseo lineup of coffee pods, we can’t find any that are either fair trade or organic.
But if you have a Keurig brewer, using K-Cups, Green Mountain coffee alone offers several different organic coffees, most of which are also fair trade certified.
(When you buy fair trade coffee, you are directly helping small coffee farmers who want to use traditional, organic farming techniques – and thereby protect the environments in which they work and live. You also ensure that the farmer receives a minimum price per pound of coffee produced...however low world prices may fall.)
Certainly, a quick search at Amazon.com will find you a few fair trade organic coffee pods, but the pickings are pretty slim.
If this is an important issue to you, and you have yet to buy a one cup brewer, then you will be better off buying a Keurig brewer.
